Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 58 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Located on the historic Eastern Shore, SU's beautiful campus is some 30 miles from the Atlantic beaches and 2.5 hours from Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Nurse Practitioner.

Primary Job Duties:  Provides direct patient care according to standardized procedures and protocols.  Collects and analyzes all medical information (assessment, screening, diagnostic testing results and risk stratification) with routine health problems; episodic acute illness and stable chronic illnesses, minor injuries, routine gynecological care and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases.  Performs COVID-19 testing and contact tracing as necessary.  Educates and counsels patients about physical and mental health; provides support around issues such as sexual health, drugs and alcohol, stress, and relationship issues.  Provides medication or prescription for medication per protocols; completes appropriate documentation and detailed charting.  Recognizes and evaluates life-threatening situations, initiates emergency treatment.  Makes referrals to outside health facility or service in the community when necessary.  Please note, NP will focus on COVID testing and contact tracing until the pandemic is better controlled.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s of Science in Nursing; 1-3 years related experience; licensed or license-eligible to practice in Maryland; certification as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant.

Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills.  Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. 

Preferred Qualifications:  College health experience preferred.

This is a full-time, exempt, State position with a full benefits package.  Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
