The Maryland Academy of Advanced Practice Clinicians is proud to be the voice for Advanced Practice Clinicians in Maryland.

Founded in 2005, MAAPC—formerly known as the Maryland Coalition of Nurse Practitioners—is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting Advanced Practice Nurses and Physician Assistants across Maryland. We advocate for advanced practice clinicians in the Maryland State Legislature, offer affordable local continuing education (CE) conferences, and provide on-demand CE programs to enhance professional growth.

MAAPC is committed to protecting and expanding the scope of practice for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs). Our landmark achievements include:

• 2015: Passage of SB723/HB999, which established Full Practice Authority for Maryland Nurse Practitioners.
• 2023: Successful advocacy for HB278/SB213 in collaboration with MACNS, granting Full Practice Authority to Clinical Nurse Specialists.
