FACT or MYTH? Nearly 98% of patients with PBC suffer from the typical form of the disease, characterized by the slow, progressive decline of small bile ducts and increase in liver fibrosis.
Answer: MYTH!
While between 70%-85% of patients suffer from what is known as “typical PBC,” as many as 30% suffer from more rapid or severe forms of the disease.
