MAAPC Membership Drive 2016-2017

Colleagues:

You will soon be receiving our membership drive letter encouraging you to support MAAPC and the work we do in Maryland and at the federal level.

I urge you to take a moment to join or renew your membership. Our website is easy to use and the cost affordable.

There are a few legislative issues in the upcoming 2017 General Assembly that we are following in this developmental stage. As always, Lorraine Diana and I, along with our excellent lobbyist, John Favazza from Manis Canning & Associates, will be monitoring anything that may affect the day-to-day practice of our members.

Therefore we continue to need your support. As you know MAAPC is a completely volunteer association so both dues and conference monies go to pay for our lobbyist and website and not to the Board members or staff.

We also continue to need your voice in the form of the emails we ask you to send to the General Assembly to support or condone issues that affect our professions. There is power in numbers and we are frequently asked how many APRNs, CNMs and PAs we represent – the higher that number the more credible we appear.

I have attached an article I wrote for the upcoming edition of The Maryland Nurse in hopes that the information contained within will also encourage you to join us as we move into 2017.
