HAPPY NEW YEAR, CONSIDER RENEWING/JOINING MAAPC

With the new tax law passed, it maybe worthwhile to renew your membership early to take advantage of the deduction as that may not be possible for 2018.

If you are not a member, please consider joining us. Our 2018 conferences are shaping up to be as informative and pertinent as 2017’s and our 2018 members-only symposium will include a workshop. 

MAAPC has had an invigorating 2017. We hosted two successful conferences, a well-attended members-only symposium and several CE dinners in Annapolis and Southern Maryland. We had a successful legislative session where we supported the MBON cleanup bill; added an amendment to the Opioid bill to preserve our prescribing ability; successfully obtained NP and NMW’s authority to refer patients for medical cannabis treatment; and supported our pharmacy colleagues in offering Maryland patients access to contraceptive care. We continue to support the Prescription Drug Affordability Initiative and the Federal effort to expand the role of NPs and PAs in hospice care.

We are monitoring the Maryland General Assembly’s 2018 agenda and will keep you apprised of legislation that affects APNs and PAs.

Our Spring CE conference is schedule for March 24, 2018 and our Symposium on April 7, 2018, both at AAMC. Registration will open soon.

MAAPC is the leading association in legislative and regulatory changes that benefit Maryland Advanced Practice Nurses. We welcome as members all APNs (NP, CNM, CNS and CRNA) and PAs and are a completely volunteer association, monies go towards our lobbyist and website, not to board members.
