About the Presentations
What is telehealth without patient involvement? The two presentations will provide approaches for how to address patient readiness and fit for telehealth interventions. Gilchrist, a former MHCC grantee, will present on a patient screening tool developed to assess determinants of health to better target enrollment efforts and maximize potential telehealth benefits. The second presentation, from the University of Maryland, will discuss characteristics that are associated with greater engagement and adherence for chronic disease self-management telehealth interventions.
After the presentation, participants should be able to:
- Identify benefits of focused enrollment efforts on patient suitability for the intervention;
- Determine effective patient selection criteria based on goal of telehealth intervention;
- Describe psychological traits associated with greater intervention outcomes for self-management telehealth interventions; and
- Tailor telehealth interventions to be more effective based on patient characteristics.
