This vacancy closes on August 04, 2021.  The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's (AHRQ) mission is to produce evidence to make health care safer, higher quality, more accessible, equitable, and affordable, and to work within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and with other partners to make sure that the evidence is understood and used. The Center for Evidence and Practice Improvement (CEPI) generates new knowledge, synthesizes evidence, translates science on what works in health and healthcare delivery, and catalyzes practice improvement across healthcare settings AHRQ is hiring a GS-14 Patient-Centered Care Researcher to apply professional expertise, knowledge of and skill to make substantive contributions to the research and program development activities of CEPI and AHRQ in the area of patient-centered care with a focus on patient engagement, relationships between providers and patient/families, care coordination and transitions, linkages between clinical and community services, and self-management support. This General Scientist Administrator will conceptualize, plan, and execute both intramural and extramural research agenda by providing technical assistance on research, program implementation, and policy issues related to patient-centered care. In addition, this General Scientist Administrator will provide technical assistance with public and private organizations regarding systems improvements to increase patient-centered care and improve the quality of health care. We are looking for a team player to participate as a subject matter expert on clinical and/or practice interventions assisting with the development, execution and evaluation of dissemination and implementation of projects to increase the uptake and use of effective clinical interventions and models of care. This individual will also prepare research manuscripts and scientific review articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals or technical reports.
