Maryland Department of Health Alert about the changes in global monkeypox epidemiology

Currently, there is one confirmed case in the Northeastern United States and multiple clusters of monkeypox are being monitored in other countries. Although no cases have been identified in Maryland, it is critical that Maryland providers have appropriate screening, infection prevention and notification processes in place for possible monkeypox - the “Identify, Isolate and Inform” paradigm - as outlined in the alert.
