Subject: Urgent: Stand with Maryland’s Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Supporting the APRN Compact

As many of you know, there is a critical bill moving through the Maryland General Assembly that will have positive and far-reaching impacts for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses while strengthening our healthcare infrastructure for a safer future.

 

House Bill 425/Senate Bill 359 - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Compact will allow for more APRNs to practice across state boundaries, including serving our underserved communities right here in Maryland. The importance of this bill is underscored by the fact that 23 out of 24 of Maryland’s counties are classified as a Health Professional Shortage Area for primary and mental healthcare services.

 

While this bill flew through the Maryland House of Delegates, we need your help to make sure it gets a vote in the Maryland State Senate.
