Dr. Jane Kapustin is a nationally recognized expert in diabetes and endocrinology with over 30 years of experience in academic and private practice settings. As Co-Director of Diabetes at Riverside Medical Associates, she provides comprehensive care to patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes and other endocrinology conditions. She is highly skilled in managing advanced diabetes technologies, including continuous glucose monitors (CGM), insulin pumps, smart pens, and other insulin delivery devices.
In addition to her clinical role, Dr. Kapustin continues to mentor and precept Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) students across the three clinics she manages. Her commitment to education and innovation extends to her previous role as Assistant Dean for Graduate Programs at the University of Maryland School of Nursing, where she led faculty practice initiatives at the Diabetes/Endocrine Center and spearheaded numerous practice and research projects.
Dr. Kapustin remains actively engaged in advancing the field of diabetes care through research, publishing, and teaching. She is a sought-after speaker at national, regional, and state conferences, including frequent presentations at the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) conferences. As Co-Chair of the AANP Endocrinology Community/Special Interest Group, she works to promote excellence in diabetes care and education.
Dr. Kapustin also supports the development of new healthcare professionals by teaching in an online transition-to-practice program for nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs). Her enduring contributions to diabetes care, education, and mentorship have earned her recognition as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) and the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN).
