The Maryland Coalition of Nurse Practitioners (MCNP) is pleased to announce that we are opening our membership to include all advanced practice clinicians.
We have officially changed our name to reflect this exciting news. We are now the Maryland Academy of Advanced Practice Clinicians (MAAPC).
The membership of MCNP voted this spring to include all advance practice nurses and physicians assistants in our association as full and voting members. This inclusion will apply to all Clin Specs, CRNMWs (Nurse Midwives), CRNAs (Nurse Anesthetists) and PAs.
The Coalition will be the FIRST in the nation to legitimize a trend that is pairing APN with PAs for educational purposes and legislative support.
We will also be having a Fall conference, focused on Pediatrics & Geriatrics with a leadership and legislation section.
- Date: Thursday, October 27, 2011
- Time: 8am-5pm with, we hope, a cocktail reception to follow
- Place: Newton White Mansion, 2708 Enterprise Road, Mitchellville, MD 20721.
Please pass this information to any interested APN and PAs as we would like to hear from them about their issues and ideas.
We are looking forward to working with our new members and colleagues in the future.
Sincerely, The MAAPC Board of Directors
Angela Borger, President
Lacy Pitman, Past President
Elaine Crain, Secretary
Jeaneen Mullenhard, Treasurer
Lorraine Diana, Legislative Chair
