So far, of 6500+ Advanced Practice Clinicians in MD, only 127 have responded. Thanks to all of you who already responded. We will not have a voice if they don't know where we are. Can you help all of the Advanced Practice Clinicians in MD be counted by encouraging all of your colleagues to participate?
The Maryland Health Care Commission has asked MAAPC to help compile data on Advanced Practice Clinicians in the state in order to plan for the implementation of the Health Insurance Exchanges January 1, 2014. They are actively working to remove the insurance credentialing and reimbursement issues many of us are facing. They are also trying to address the EMR issues and requirements. Your input is essential to this process!
The information needed is how many clinicians are actively practicing in MD, where they practice, what their specialties are, and if they own their own practices.
This information will be used for planning purposes, and will aid them in identifying barriers to practice in the state. The preliminary data will be presented at a Rural Health Delivery and Planning Meeting on November 8, 2013.
