MAAPC electrifies the House Committee and advances on to the Senate!

Posted about 9 years ago by Elaine Crain

I wish you all could have seen Lorraine Diana and Susan Delean-Botkin present our case to the House's Health and Government Operations (HGO) committee on Tuesday – it was truly inspirational.

We had two surprise supporters from AAMC - Madeleine Binner, CRNP, DNP and Monique Willingham, CRNP, who make a compelling case for removing the attestation language from the bill and had the Committee laughing with their wit.

Many stakeholders are supporting the bill including the Board of Nursing, DHMH, AARP, the Maryland Rural Health Association, The Maryland Hospital Association, the Board of Physicians, and the NCSBN.

My friends and colleagues, this is the moment to join us! Become a member of the premier APRN association in Maryland – the Maryland Academy of Advanced Practice Clinicians. Be a part of history as we obtain full practice authority and fulfill the mandate from our patients – deliver quality and accessible healthcare!

Senate Hearing is Wednesday, March 18 at 1pm and we continue to need letters from physicians and signatures of support to take with as we testify. On the APRNPractice.org website, go to Resources and then Educating the public. At the bottom of the page, you can download a sample support letter and a signature sheet. Email (APRN.Practice.org@gmail.com) or fax (410-544-5939) us your completed sheets and letters.
