Dr. Brown is a clinical pharmacy specialist in Internal Medicine, serving one of the four large academic medicine teams at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. After graduating with her Doctor of Pharmacy from Hampton University School of Pharmacy in 2015, she completed both a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and a PGY2 Internal Medicine Pharmacy Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC prior to taking her current role at The Johns Hopkins Hospital about four years ago. She holds board certification in Pharmacotherapy, and serves as an educator of pharmacy students, post-graduate year (PGY) 1 pharmacy residents, PGY2 pharmacy residents in Pharmacotherapy, as well as medical students and residents along with other members of the interdisciplinary team. Hematology has always been an interest area of hers and she works closely with the Hematology Department and Anticoagulation Clinic at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Currently, she is a primary investigator in two ongoing studies at Johns Hopkins looking at current practices surrounding iron repletion in special populations, heart failure and CKD, based on new studies suggesting clinical benefits in these groups.
